How Hogs for the Cause is Making a Difference in the Fight Against Pediatric Brain Cancer

As the leading terminal cancer in children in the US, pediatric brain cancer poses immense financial and emotional burdens on families. Since our start in 2009, we’ve committed millions of dollars to alleviating these burdens by empowering local communities to raise funds for outreach services to these families.

Your impact has been immense: Over $6 million raised and over 1,500 grants awarded to families nationwide. Fundraising with Hogs for the Cause is not just about raising money; it is about joining a community that loves kids and wants to help children fighting brain cancer. While we’re known for our nationally recognized annual festival, our work is year-around.

Helping Hospitals Nationwide

One of our major recent achievements is the development of on-campus housing at Children’s Hospital New Orleans, known as “Hogs House,” for families outside the New Orleans region who have a child receiving ongoing healthcare treatment. We raised $2 million for this project, which has made a significant difference in the lives of many families who previously had to travel long distances and incur high expenses to be with their sick children.

We have also made significant contributions to other hospitals and organizations that provide care and support for pediatric brain cancer patients and their families. Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital, Oschner Hospital for Children, and Medical University of South Carolina Children’s Hospital are among the many beneficiaries of our fundraising efforts. We have contributed to the construction of on-campus housing, patient care facilities, and social services funds for oncology patients and their families.

Direct Grants to Those Who Need It Most

In addition to fundraising, we also provide grants to families with children fighting pediatric brain cancer. These grants help cover expenses not covered by insurance, such as travel, lodging, and other needs important to the child’s care. These grants provide a lifeline to families who are struggling to make ends meet while caring for their sick children.

How To Contribute

At Hogs for the Cause, we are not just a charity; we are a community that cares deeply about children fighting pediatric brain cancer and their families.
