We’re proud to welcome Jay’s BBQ Shack to the Trail of Barbecue — Hogs for the Cause’s growing network of restaurants across the country lending their kitchens, their fans, and their platforms to the fight against pediatric brain cancer.
Jay’s started the way a lot of the best Texas barbecue does: out of a trailer, with a wood-fired pit and a whole lot of patience. Word got around Abilene, then it got as far as Texas Monthly, and the trailer became a shack on South 11th Street that West Texas now plans its week around. The doors open Wednesday through Saturday at 11 a.m. and close whenever the brisket runs out — which is usually sooner than anybody would like.
A Menu Item for the Cause
Jay’s is putting a featured item on the board in support of Hogs for the Cause. Order it, and a portion of every single sale goes directly to families battling pediatric brain cancer.
🐷 During the month of September, they will feature a ‘Three Little Pigs’ sandwich to the menu that consists of Pulled Pork, Pork Belly Brisket and a Unique Pork Sausage. All profits from this sandwich will go to Hogs for the Cause.
🔥 Then get the brisket too — that’s the one that put Jay’s on the map
💖 Fuel the fight against pediatric brain cancer
It’s the easiest way to turn a great BBQ run into a meaningful one.
